Amy whinehouse is like Nigel Kennedy--Funny haircut and stubble-no seriously, huge musical talent, obstructed by a strange fascination to lurid headlines which obscure the fact that they are prodIigiously talented.
Whinehoudse has a great voice thatis full of soul and passion'that has the aching passion of Bessie Smith.and the power of Janis Joplin and look what happenend to them.
Listen to"Rehab" and this could be classic 60's soul as could be"Love is a losing game"and the version of "Valerie"on the bonus disc is a revelation Amy is young and despite her problems ,she has made her great album.

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars Swan song? Maybe.

Worth it for the bonus disc, but the actual album is patchier than most will admit. A great singer with a wonderfully emotive voice, but not the genius songwriter that some tout her as. Unfortunately this may be her swan song as anyone I know who has seen her doing the festivals this year feel she is beyond a comeback.

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars Back to Black is pure GOLD.

This album truly is a classic of our time. She has the typical lifestyle of the rich and tragic, such as Jim Morrisson, Hendrix, Joplin, Monroe and Elvis. She is a master of her art and suffering for it too.

Every track on the CD is a masterpiece. She writes with emotion and tongue in cheek sassiness. The well known tracks such as Rehab, Back to Black, and I'm No Good are fantastic but the little known ones on the album such as Me and Mr Jones are amusing as much as they are amazing.

This Album is the best UK female creation this decade has to offer. Buy it, listen to it and love it... as previously mentioned, enjoy her now while you can, she may not be with us for much longer.

Love this album - buy 'Frank'.
