Hearts of Fire from 1977 again found the band once again trying to recapture the energy of earlier records and at times they succeed.There are some fine moments on this record One Night in Texas is a bonna fide rock classic and has hit single written all over it,why it was never released as a single baffles me.Other highlights include the magnificent I Wanna Be Free and Take a Life which features guitar work by Del Bromham which could peel paint.The rest of the record features some nice acoustic songs of which Lady stands out this was to be Stray's last record in the studio for some 20 years as the band called it a day until starting again in the mid 1990's much to the delight of the bands loyal fanbase who in the meantime had to make do with occasional shows from the band in the intervening years.
